Water Systems Engineering Student

About the Role

Supports Water Systems Engineering Department and staff by performing duties such as,
but not limited to, investigating collection/distribution system issues, assisting with
designs, reviewing plans and associated data, and developing wastewater and water
system improvement projects. Utilizes AutoCAD ESRI ArcMap, etc. to produce various
drawings, maps, and other design tools. Other projects, duties, and tasks will be assigned
as needed.

 

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible
amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects,
including the human body. Physical demands for a specific position within this
classification may vary and / or exceed those demands described above.

 

Minimum Requirements

● Must have and maintain full-time student status at an accredited college or university
pursuing an Associates, Bachelor’s, or a graduate-level degree in Civil, Environmental,
Biosystems, or related Engineering discipline
● Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
● Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license
● Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
● Effective oral and written communication
● Must possess basic computer skills

 

Preferred Requirements

● Completion of some advance level engineering coursework
● Intermediate or advanced level of proficiency with computer drafting software
(ArcMap, AutoCad, Microstation)
● Interest in field investigations related to utility systems
● Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
and/or Access
