Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Facilities Manager within the Office of Chief of Staff, Facilities & Support Services Section.

Job Responsibilities:

Manages the planning, development, and implementation of operational support services for a facility. Develops and implements policies and procedures. Manages subordinate supervisors and staff.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges employees
  • Manages human resources and directs administrative activities
  • Assists in planning and preparing budget documents
  • Coordinates, reviews, monitors, and evaluates operational support services of a facility
  • Develops and implements procedures relevant to facilities management operations
  • Directs the bidding renewal of all annual service contracts for both leased and owned
  • office space
  • Plans, schedules, and implements facility maintenance activities
  • Reviews JCAHO, Federal, State, and/or other regulatory agency information for assigned
  • area to direct quality improvement activities
  • Performs site visits to all DPH leased and owned facilities. (May include overnight travel.)
  • Performs quality assurance checks on worked being performed by MEP partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of facilities management experience,

OR 

Three years of experience in facilities or property management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have a strong knowledge of building trades: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical.
  • Good skills and knowledge of space planning.
  • Knowledge of management practices and principles. Technical expertise with building systems and regulatory bodies.
  • Capable of making critical decisions in both planned and emergency situations.
  • Ability to negotiate and collaborate with internal departments
  • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to deliver on allocated tasks and respond to deadlines in a timely manner.
