Customer Experience (Marketing) Internship

What are you doing next summer? Ever been to Phoenix, Arizona? At PetSmart, we are committed to developing future business leaders through our Emerging Talent programs. By joining our Customer Experience (Marketing) Team as a Customer Experience Intern, you'll join a collaborative group of pet lovers who'll do Anything for Pets.


The Customer Experience team works to showcase our brand through the lens of expertise and love. They work to provide a personalized experience for our pet parents, backed by best-in-class, data-driven marketing capabilities. The Customer Experience team focuses across 4 departments: Marketing, Creative, Communications, and the Loyalty/CRM team. Everyone brings their own point of view to create a unique experience for our pet parents and the pets they love.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Work alongside a team that helps envision, develop, and align the organization around enterprise and audience/category-specific integrated marketing plans that ensure incremental sales, share, and new customer growth
  • Assist in developing and implementing initiatives and campaigns to improve the customer experience, differentiating the brand under the Anything For Pets brand platform
  • Opportunity to create relevant stories for pet parents, that deliver solutions for the unique needs of their pets where and when they are receptive to great content
  • Address any operational pain points and maintain active communication among teams
  • Identify key trends, cause & effect, and forward-looking implications from customer, market, and category-specific data
  • Assist in the development of corporate reputation platforms supporting work in Belonging, sustainability, employer brand, & civic engagement

Present your recommendations and original ideas to PetSmart leaders and peers at the end of the summer

Develop and grow your soft skills with the support of a dedicated manager and mentor

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • A passion for pets
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Retailing and Consumer Sciences, Art Design, Digital Design and/or related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Specific internships may require proficiency in programming languages: SAS, Python, R, and/or SQL
  • Graduating Fall 2024 or Spring 2025
  • Desire to learn, grow and engage with peers and leaders - ask for what you need
  • Ability to pivot alongside ever-changing business climate
  • Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication
  • Ability to display learning agility, reflective listening, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Willingness to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona for the summer and potential future FT role
