About the Position:
Under the general direction of the External Affairs Manager, a Staff Services Manager II (SSM II), the incumbent manages a wide variety of advanced analytical and independent duties using various interpersonal, organizational and research skills and public relations techniques. The Public Affairs Manager works closely with the External Affairs Manager to maintain one External Affairs team that functions seamlessly to provide excellent service to internal stakeholders, elected officials, and the public. The Public Affairs Manager has the responsibility for the District Customer Service Request Program, ensuring staff are accurately and efficiently responding to public requests for service. The incumbent provides technical and editorial expertise in the preparation, design and production of informational materials. The incumbent also represents the District and Department in coordinating and sustaining a successful California Public Records Act program in San Diego and Imperial counties in order to ensure compliance with State law.
