Group Visit Program Volunteer
Volunteering at Hennepin Healthcare gives you the opportunity to work with our community of diverse volunteers, staff, visitors, and patients. As a volunteer you will help support and enhance hospital services and programs. Volunteers should have an interest in integrative therapies and healing practices. Volunteer where you will make a difference.
Volunteer opportunities are now available to partner with Group Medical Visit staff, helping get group sessions ready, greeting patients, and other tasks. Excellent communication skills along with experience with office work are helpful. In this role you will have the opportunity to work behind the scenes, work with patients, support staff, and learn about an innovative model for healthcare.
Integrative Health Group Visits are a way for patients to approach their care from a holistic, and integrative perspective. Working in groups gives opportunities for individuals to talk with others from their community with similar concerns and share their experiences. Groups can be a safe environment to improve individual understanding and support personal development. Some benefits of Group Visits include mindfulness skills, relaxation response, self-confidence, increased energy while focusing on personal health and wellness goals and learning to build upon self-care. Longer appointment sessions give patients time to ask questions of the provider and learn from others from their community.
