MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT
IU School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is looking for a Marketing and Communications Assistant to help us with communication to our constitutes, execute marketing campaigns and design supporting assets. This part-time (10-15 hours/week) student position will provide you with hands-on experience in the field of internal communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES __________________________________________
The Department programs and services need to be thoughtfully communication to faculty and learns throughout the state as well as nationwide. The Marketing and Communication Assistant will support these efforts by fulfilling the following duties:
· 20% Creating and scheduling emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (single-topic and newsletters)
· 30% Writing stories and narratives for programs, events and awards. Conducting interviews, drafting marketing copy/blurbs, and copy-editing existing language. Drafting blog posts to be submitted to social media accounts
· 30% Planning, organizing, gathering, and writing content for website
· 20% Creating supporting images and documents using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
Examples of projects could be:
· Making a single-topic email inviting faculty/staff/learners to annual Anatomy Course
· Writing a blog story about faculty research
· Assembling the content and scheduling the delivery of a monthly Oto Connections Newsletter
QUALIFICATIONS _______________________________________________________________
Required:
· Is in good standing and possesses at least a sophomore status
· GPA >3.0
· Must be reliable and able to manage time while working on multiple projects
· Must be able to work independently/autonomously as well be a collaborative team member
· Demonstrates creativity
· Strong writing skills
· Willing to meet all requirements to access protected health information, vaccinations (COVID-19 and current Flu), tuberculosis test, and HIPAA training
Preferably Also Have:
· Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
· Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
· Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other email marketing platforms; willingness to attend training if not familiar
