Global IT Leadership Development Program Internship (MBA/MS) - Summer 2024 (59629)

This role in summary

Whirlpool’s Global Information Technology Leadership Development Program (GITLDP) Internship provides participants with the opportunity to apply technical skills, strengthen business insight, and grow. You will have access to learning and development opportunities throughout the summer, both with fellow GITLDP interns and with interns across the organization, in addition to exposure with senior leaders.

The GITLDP internship feeds into a full time rotational leadership development program with an Information Technology leadership focus.

Your day-to-day

During this internship, you will own a project, drive differentiated results, and receive mentorship from Information Technology leadership. Your project will fall within a specific Information Technology discipline to deliver key business impact. This experience will give you the opportunity to envision, design, develop, and operate information systems that support a global multi-branded business.

Project assignments could be in areas such as:

  • Project Leadership: Project Planning and Estimating, Project Management and Delivery
  • Innovation and Emerging Capabilities: New technologies
  • Business Client Engagement: Business facing roles providing leadership and support to Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service, etc. 

Program location

The internship takes place in Southwest Michigan at our Global and North American Headquarters. Learn more about our locations here


Minimum requirements

  • Progress in MBA curriculum with an emphasis in technology or technical certifications or progress in MS (IS, IT, or Computer Science) curriculum or related field
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 with an anticipated completion date in 2025
  • Minimum 3 years of practical work experience in a fast-paced technology field

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Passion for applied technology
  • Desire to work within a project management and IT consulting role
  • Desire to work in a global enterprise, lead challenging projects and drive organizational effectiveness through technology solutions
  • Demonstrated project management capability; agile experience preferred
  • Understanding of how technology enables business outcomes
