The Full-Time Program - July 2024

The Finance Development Program (FDP) is a three-year rotational program for graduating students with Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees and minimal professional experience to date.

The program is designed to develop exceptional analytical skills and provide participants with operational knowledge across three unique 12-month corporate finance rotations. These rotations are determined by business needs in addition to your interests. In this program, we encourage one rotation in our US manufacturing facilities, which offers a unique perspective on our operations.

Participants have program-specific curriculum and receive a dedicated Steering Committee mentor, who is a senior finance leader. Finance Development Program participants graduate the program with a strong foundation of accounting, finance, and operations and are ready to lead future financial initiatives throughout the company.

Program location

Program participants work primarily out of the Southwest Michigan region at either Whirlpool’s Global or North American Headquarters. Participants also have the opportunity to participate in rotational assignments at one of our US manufacturing facilities. Learn more about our locations here.

 

Your day-to-day

Assignments in the program will focus on developing broad and robust skills in corporate finance. Rotational assignments could be related to:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Manufacturing Finance
  • Sales and Marketing Finance
  • Supply Chain Finance
  • Accounting
  • Internal Audit

 

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree with a completion date by May 2024
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0
  • Must have indefinite US work authorization. Applicants who require visa sponsorship or work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for this program.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems with analytics
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong written & verbal communication, leadership experience, and project management skills
  • Curriculum with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
