Automation/Robotics Production Engineer Intern
A 10-week Summer Intern opportunity is available for a high caliber Engineering student in our San Antonio, Texas, facility. A semester long experience can be considered. The work will take place in a production/manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and support products and systems that combine mechanical, electronic, robotics, automation, communication, control, and embedded computing principles for the integration of automated system solutions in our manufacturing processes
- Perform a variety of technical and operational tasks to provide engineering analysis and support to engineers and project team members
- Analyze root cause issues and recommend practical solutions
- Develop, implement, and maintain shop floor visualization solutions
- Integrate i4.0 initiatives with existing company systems
- Develop predictive systems driven by process data
- Exercise professional discretion in judgment, customer service, and time management
- Maintain confidentiality, work independently, and perform other duties as required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., twist, bend, use hand tools, and kneel
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to maintain a full-time work schedule during the internship timeframe
Requirements:
Currently working towards a BS or MS in applicable engineering discipline such as Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Previous hands-on experience, previous internship and/or project experience is preferred
