Grant writer (REMOTE)

About 21&You: 21&You is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for children with Down syndrome. Our mission is to empower and support individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and their communities by providing essential resources and organizing impactful events.

Position Description: We are seeking a talented and motivated Grant Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for researching and identifying grant opportunities, preparing grant proposals, and managing the grant application process. Your efforts will play a crucial role in securing funding to support our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with 21&You's mission and programs.
• Write and prepare grant proposals, ensuring they meet all application requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with the team to gather relevant information and data to include in grant proposals.
• Maintain a database of grant opportunities, deadlines, and outcomes.
• Track and report on the status of grant applications.
• Participate in regular check-in meetings to discuss progress and results.
• Assist in developing and implementing grant strategies to maximize funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in grant writing or a related field is preferred.
• Strong research and analytical skills to identify grant prospects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Passion for our mission and a strong desire to make a difference in the community.

Duration and Extension: This is a part-time position requiring 5 hours of work per week. At the end of the initial 5-hour period, there will be a check-in meeting to assess progress and results. Depending on performance and the availability of additional funding, the position may be extended.
