Quality Engineering Internship

This internship will be hosted for the Summer 2024 semester. 

Estimated dates: May through August 2024 


Duties and Responsibilities: 
•    Review data to understand where improvements are needed.
•    Develop project charters through data analysis.
•    Use critical thinking to analyze data.
•    Determine root causes for problem statements.
•    Develop countermeasures for root causes identified.
•    Create and implement process improvements.
•    Work closely with different departments, Production, Quality, Planning, to design or modify processes.
•    Lead cross functional teams to define ISO 9001 opportunities that need support of new or modified systems.
•    Supports the Manufacturing Plants to analyze, identify and implement quality related process improvements.
•    Standardized process and/or systems across the manufacturing plants where benefits can be achieved.
•    Conduct training on new or existing modified processes.  

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
•    Junior or Senior currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Engineering, or Information Systems 
•    Minimum GPA 2.5 
•    Ability to work 40-hour work weeks during the summer
•    Must have reliable transportation to and from work 
•    ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems experience preferred.
•    Working knowledge and experience of SAP Quality Module a plus
•    Knowledge and experience with utility and industrial cable testing requirements preferred.
•    Knowledge of ICEA, AEIC, UL and ASTM testing standards a plus
•    Lean Manufacturing tools experience a plus
•    Detailed oriented, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple challenges and projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
•    Strong leadership skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
•    Excellent organization, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
•    Experience with procedure/process/work instruction creation, implementation, and revision
•    Must have excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. 
•    Experience with Snowflake, Tableau, Advaris, Minitab, and Project Management a plus
