Product Management Internship

This internship will be hosted for the Summer 2024 semester. 

Estimated dates: May through August 2024

 

Role Summary

This is an exciting time to join Southwire on the Tools & Equipment Team. The Product Management Intern –Tools & Equipment will assist the Product Specialist–Material Handling on launch preparation for an industry leading product along with merchandising opportunities and programs designed to gain share in the market. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to development & deployment of commercial assets, product testing & analysis, and assisting the Product Management Team in day-to-day category management activities.

 

Description of Roles and Responsibilities

  • New Product Development including working directly with distribution and other cross functional teams
  • Researching new product ideas and walking them through the product development process
  • Assisting with new product launches, merchandising, including marketing collateral and onsite photography
  • SAP data entry and maintenance
  • Candidate will be heavily involved in the Tools & Equipment categories
  • Opportunity to learn all areas of the Tools & Equipment markets, including Bending, Pulling, Hand Tools, Meters, & Material Handling.

 

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Communications or like field
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced product category with changing technology and customer demands
  • Hardworking and Self-Starter
  • Ability to use problem solving skills when working through tasks
  • Positive attitude and good communicator
  • Familiarity with the Tools& Electrical industries a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word) required, Microsoft Project a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
