Job Summary: This position will assist the researcher in organizing, analyzing, and reporting findings from data. This position will be responsible for maintaining a research database. This person will engage in grant writing experiences.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist with data cleaning. 
  • Maintain a research database. 
  • Create reports to reflect the results of the data. 
  • Engage in literature reviews. 
  • Write grants based on findings. 

 

Qualifications/Requirements  

  • Student must have work-study award.
  • Must be enrolled in social work or related social science. 
  • Must understand the basics of statistics. 
  • Knowledge of SQL, Python, and SPSS.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skill.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and aptitude to learn quickly.
  • Positive attitude and work ethic.
  • Ability to research and adapt appropriately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; solid sense of professionalism.

 

Skills/Experience Gained in this role:

Communicator – the ability to listen, write, and speak effectively. Student will gain skills in communication, drafting research reports, grant writing, statistical analysis etc.  

Innovator – the ability to design, plan, organize and implement projects and tasks within a specific timeframe. Student will work on projects to increase visibility of School and its programs. 

Problem Solver – the ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments. When supervisor is not available, student will utilize resources as needed and seek support when appropriate. 

Data Analytics - the ability to extract, interpret, and analyze data to uncover insights and patterns. It includes data collection, cleansing, analysis, and visualization. Using several different data analysts' methods to provide actionable insights to drive decision-making for the school.
