Nike Manufacturing and Sourcing teams, we constantly challenge the assumptions about how products are made! We come up with big ideas, test principles and perfect production processes and work closely with Nike’s hundreds of manufacturing partners across multiple countries to develop new methods of making to create better-performing products with less waste. The Manufacturing and Sourcing organization is looking for dynamic interns to join their teams across a variety of functional areas. These opportunities are specific to AIR Manufacturing Innovation (AIR MI).
General Requirements:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree with an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025
Strong desire to work in a manufacturing environment required
Experience in a high-volume and/or high mix manufacturing environment is preferred
Ability to analyze problems, assess data, use basic math and statistics, and deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
Ability to balance multiple challenging projects simultaneously
AirMI Engineering Intern
As our Engineering Intern, you will join the Air MI team to assist in the manufacturing of products related to Nike Air Footwear. Multiple positions are available and may focus on one or more of the following areas: product and tooling design, production equipment/automation design and installation, process development, or machine optimization. You will be mentored by your area-specific and cross-functional teammates and use your engineering skills to implement product development, tooling designs or continuous improvement solutions as determined by the project(s) to which you are assigned. Alongside your engineering teammates, you may work with other specialists including but not limited to areas such as development, production, costing, maintenance and facilities.

Additional Requirements
Preferred degree: Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or similar field
A degree in Plastics Engineering or experience with plastics is a bonus
Must be comfortable working hands-on
Exposure to Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing principles and concepts
Ability to work collaboratively with teammates and partners
