Construction Management intern

Internship Overview:

Department Overview:   

The Store Development, Leasing and Facilities Support team is responsible for six major functional areas: 

Store Development  

Pre-Construction  

Equipment Purchasing  

Leasing and Asset Management 

Facility Maintenance 

SCP/Energy/Facility Services  

This group supports all Ahold Delhaize USA companies by ensuring that more than 2,000 local brand stores and support office campuses are in optimal operating condition and that each brand is positioned to realize energy efficiencies, helping them save for Connected Customers and enhance sustainability. 

 

Primary Purpose:  

Assist in the management of new store, expansion and remodel projects through all phases of pre-construction, construction, and close-out period 

Assist in managing projects bids, contracts, requisitions and invoices 

Coordinate with all internal departments regarding schedules, project phasing and changes. 

Help develop and implement new cost savings ideas, including value engineering and construction means and methods, that will result in saving time and money. 

 

Qualifications: 

Working towards a degree in Construction Management or related field.  

Experience working in a collaborative group setting   

Experience using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills   

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, appropriately and effectively   

Ability to work a varied schedule to accommodate field visits and office work 

 

Skills: 

Ability to read blueprints 

Exposure to CAD (required)
