Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry Analytics Intern

Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry Analytics Intern 
 
PURPOSE
This summer internship will involve working in an analytical chemistry laboratory under the direction of senior scientists and is targeted towards graduate chemistry majors.
 
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The project will be to develop analytical methods and/or analyze samples to perform protein characterization and Mass Spec method development/validation within the platform to support the safety assessment and Regulatory submissions of Bayer’s biotech product using protein analytical tools. Updating current documented methods or drafting improved methods will be required. After the assignment, a written summary report and an oral presentation will be required.
 
Dates for this internship are May 13, 2024 - August 2, 2024.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values, more specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a M.S or Ph.D. program at a university in the U.S., majoring in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related technical field
  • Has 2 years’ hands-on experience in Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS)
  • Experience with protein identification, characterization, post-translational modification and quantification is preferred
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain a variety of laboratory instruments including the LC/MS and HPLC is desirable
  • Must be returning to school to continue program of study upon completion of summer internship
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above on 4.0 scale.
