Development and Fundraising Fall Internship
VIRTUAL ONLY
Position Summary
- 10 to 15 hours per week
- Hybrid; flexible on date and time
- Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Philanthropy
Job Duties
- Conduct research on potential donors, strategic partners, markets, and industries.
- Draft correspondence, reports, proposals, and donor appeals
- Manage donor relationships using our CRM platform
- Prepare reports and presentations
- Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects as needed
- Depending on availability, provide assistant at key high profile events
- Other tasks as needed and as discussed with supervisor
- Calls: All staff and interns participate in membership and donor renewal calls, and some admin tasks ask needed
Ideal Candidate
- Is a nonprofit management college student or graduate student
- Wants hands-on experience and resume building opportunities in nonprofit fundraising
- Wants one-on-one coaching and feedback as they develop their fundraising practice
- Has a growth mindset and desire to learn new skills
- Is self-motivated, works well with others, and works well independently
Preferred:
- Experience with online crowd sourcing platforms
- Experience in fundraising
- Experience working or volunteering with non-profits
- Skills with developing charts and graphics in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with the Fulbright Program
- Interest in and/or knowledge of higher education
- Foreign language proficiency
- Experience with international travel or study abroad
