Development and Fundraising Fall Internship

VIRTUAL ONLY
Position Summary 
  • 10 to 15 hours per week
  • Hybrid; flexible on date and time
  • Reports directly to the Assistant Director for Philanthropy

Job Duties 
  • Conduct research on potential donors, strategic partners, markets, and industries.
  • Draft correspondence, reports, proposals, and donor appeals
  • Manage donor relationships using our CRM platform
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Assist with mailings, filing, and special projects as needed
  • Depending on availability, provide assistant at key high profile events
  • Other tasks as needed and as discussed with supervisor
  • Calls: All staff and interns participate in membership and donor renewal calls, and some admin tasks ask needed

Ideal Candidate 
  • Is a nonprofit management college student or graduate student
  • Wants hands-on experience and resume building opportunities in nonprofit fundraising
  • Wants one-on-one coaching and feedback as they develop their fundraising practice
  • Has a growth mindset and desire to learn new skills
  • Is self-motivated, works well with others, and works well independently

Preferred:
  • Experience with online crowd sourcing platforms
  • Experience in fundraising
  • Experience working or volunteering with non-profits
  • Skills with developing charts and graphics in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with the Fulbright Program
  • Interest in and/or knowledge of higher education
  • Foreign language proficiency
  • Experience with international travel or study abroad
