Editorial and Public Relations Internship: Remote Internship

Editorial and Public Relations Internship:

Dealing with cancer is hard and comes with a lot of emotions.  Up Cancer is a community that teaches young adult cancer survivors how to face their emotions and thrive despite.    

Position: We are seeking college interns who are looking to gain experience in public relations, social media, and make a difference in young adult cancer patients' lives. As a public relations intern,  you will be working remotely with the Editorial and Public Relations National Team to write and publish articles and create social media content.    

Volunteer Internships are 3-10 hours a week,  flexible with your schedule, and you work remotely.    If you are looking to receive college credit,  we will work with your university to gain volunteer internship  hours you need to gain college credit.  We meet weekly on Tuesdays at 10 pm EST via Zoom for less than an hour.    

Editorial and Public Relations Team Responsibilities:
  • Write and edit content for Up Cancer and Team Up Cancer website
  • Editing all material
  • Develop story and content ideas for monthly newsletter and multi-media content
  • Oversee publication production, Research, produce, and edit compelling content for Up Cancer and Team Up Cancer multiple platforms: website, newsletter, email, press releases, video, photography, etc.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop story ideas based on educating and empowering the young adult cancer community
  • Create and managing social media content
  • Work with merchandising team to promote Up Cancer merchandise
  • Engage in conversations with young adult cancer survivors, caregivers, donors, medical, and news media to increase Up Cancer brand and community engagement

Intern will learn how to work with a team and develop writing skills for different forms of media and social media platforms.

Interns do not pay any fees.

Up Cancer volunteer internships is based on your schedule. Internships are available via semester, academic school year, or during the summer. Our goal is to help you build your resume for the future and gain experience. 

Interns will be supervised by CEO though email, phone calls, and team work video conferencing
