Assistant, Archives and Library

Position located near IUPUI Campus! (position is part of the Community Work-study program at IUPUI)

POSITION PURPOSE:
This position provides support to all departments within the Archives and Library Department.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.       Assist with reference shifts as assigned.
2.       Assist with digital projects such as image scanning or cassette tape transfers.
3.      Perform administrative support tasks.
4.      Assist archives staff with processing projects.
5.      Other duties as assigned
 
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
1.       Excellent verbal and written communication skills
2.       Ability to prioritize and organize tasks, meet specific deadlines, and follow through to completion.
3.      Commitment to excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
4.      Excellent computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Photoshop.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Movement – Stooping, Bending, Climbing, Kneeling, and Crouching to reach & pick up items
Strength – Ability to lift & carry items weighing up to 35 pounds
Manual Dexterity – Ability to handle fragile items with care
Wrist & Visual Stamina – Ability to type and focus on a computer screen for prolonged periods of time

Part-time
