As a LPN at Horizon, you will…
- Consult with appropriate nursing staff and/or Medical Director regarding medical problems or possible need for transfer to other levels of care
- Conduct medical protocol for determining patient’s medical needs
- Monitor vital signs and other signs and symptoms of withdrawal or medical complications
- Complete initial and comprehensive medical treatment plans as required
- Update treatment plans as needed
- Assure that all medications are safely stored, inventoried and distributed per MD direction and Agency policy
- Provide emergency and follow-up medical care as needed
- Provide supportive and motivational counseling to patients
- Conduct or assist in providing structured group activities and discussion groups for the patients
- Assist in the management of patient behaviors
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records consistent with agency policies and standard nursing practices
- Maintain administrative and statistical records as needed
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences and in-service trainings as assigned
- Complete other related tasks as necessary
- Sometimes assist in the orientation of new staff

- NYS Licensed Practical Nurse with one year’s full-time paid experience as an LPN required.
- 5 Years’ Experience as an LPN preferred
Location
Conveniently located at 291 Elm Street in downtown Buffalo, Terrace House is a 68-bed facility offering stabilization and medically-supervised detox treatment. We provide twenty-four hour care to adult men and women who need support, counseling, observation, nursing and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal.
Hours
Terrace House is a 24/7/365 facility so we have a variety of shifts to consider that best meet your needs. Please visit our site to see our current openings! You’ll earn an additional 15% shift differential for your work hours that fall between the hours of 7 PM - 7 AM!
