Lead, Environmental Regulatory Compliance
This role involves serving as a Lead for Environmental Regulatory Compliance to include facilitating the implementation of the environmental compliance program and policy for the vessels within RCG’s fleet. As a part of this role, to ensure the vessels have the necessary information and guidance to meet the requirements of international (e.g., MARPOL); national (Port State and Flag State); regional / local (e.g., ECAs, special areas, ports, etc.) and internal policy. In particular, this person will be knowledgeable about all areas of maritime environmental compliance as they apply to cruise ships and their environmental operations relating to: ship emissions, waste, water and waste water (ballast, grey, black). This includes having expertise in the on board environmental systems associated with meeting environmental criteria (e.g., sewage treatment plants, ballast treatment systems, etc.). This role requires collaborating with industry groups and regulatory agencies to anticipate regulatory changes and ensure that necessary revisions of existing policies occur. The Lead serves as a primary contact point regarding upcoming regulatory matters with Marine Operations, Global Marine Technical Services, New Build, and within the Environmental Stewardship Department. This position must also have the experience and skills for appropriately addressing items with and reporting to Classification Societies and Flag State personnel.
