Seasonal Field Forester
The Field Forester position predominately revolves around performing inventory services. Your primary role will involve working closely under the direct supervision of a Professional Forester or Natural Resource Specialist, with most of your time dedicated to:
- Inventory Services: your foremost responsibility will be the execution of inventory services. This entails the collection of data utilizing both conventional techniques and cutting-edge LiDAR technology-assisted methods. These efforts are aimed at developing precise estimates of marketable timber volume and providing clients with comprehensive insights into forest health and condition.
- Forest Health Management: you may also be involved in forest health management activities including the designation and execution of harvest boundaries, riparian buffers, administration of planting initiatives, and the management of forest roads.
- Hazard Management (Fire and Fuels): There is the potential for assignments related to hazard management, particularly in the realm of fire and fuels. This may involve opportunities to work with a Wildland Fire Engine and the application of various prescribed burning methods. These activities are designed to mitigate hazardous fuel loads on client-owned properties.
- Exploring Other Natural Resource Opportunities: Alongside the core responsibilities, you may also encounter diverse opportunities within the broader Natural Resource industry as they arise.
