Product Management Xtern - The Ultimate Internship Experience
PRODUCT MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIPS
The Indiana Digital Innovation Economy seeks passionate students to work as Product Management Interns in the summer of 2024. In this role you will work alongside experienced professionals to actively contribute to meaningful projects and gain valuable experience. This is an opportunity to apply the knowledge you’ve learned in the classroom and develop the skills you’ll need for the next step in your career.
WORK AT A RAPIDLY-GROWING TECH COMPANY
The Xtern program places you with a high-growth tech company for a 10-week, full time, paid internship over the summer. Xtern finalists will interview with two-to-five potential tech companies for their internship on November 17th, 2023.
SKILLS ON THE JOB (in no particular order):
- Teamwork: Working cooperatively with others to complete work assignments, especially while utilizing collaborative software.
- Communication: Listening, speaking, and signaling so others can understand using a variety of methods, including hearing, speech, American Sign Language, instant messaging, text-to-speech devices, etc.
- Gather Information and Requirements: Document project requirements, analyze the data to the best of their ability, work internally with an Emerging or Proficient peer to identify gaps requirements.
- Customer Focus: Efficiently and effectively addressing the needs of clients/customers.
- Product Knowledge & Testing: Understand the organization’s product features and work under supervision to coordinate trials and introduction of new features.
- Problem Solving/Decision Making: Generating, evaluating, and implementing solutions to problems.
- Agile Development Process: method of project management that typically involves division of tasks into short phases of work and frequent reassessment and adaptation of plans
- Customer Validation: methodologies to evaluate the level of customer satisfaction with the product by letting it be validated by the end-users, who actually use it, for over a period of time; Broad understanding of usability, usability testing, usability heuristics.
- Data Modeling: Basic data modeling, JSON, XML, working knowledge of relational and non-relational databases. SQL, REST APIs, processing data using Python, etc.
- Interpersonal Competencies: Displaying competencies to work effectively with others from diverse backgrounds.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be enrolled in college
