Educational Theatre Internship - Kosovo

Intern with a Kosovo-based non-governmental organization that promotes culture, the arts and multi-ethnic co-existence through social dialogue and use of theater as a tool for promoting diversity and social change. Its mission is to build the cultural power of women and youth of all ethnic and community backgrounds to become catalysts for social change.

They have a well established network of cooperation with national Kosovo media and Kosovo theatre and film artists. This organization is a member of the International Performing Arts Association (ISPA), Kosovo Women’s Network (KWN), Cultural Forum, and CiviKos. This organization works with artists and activists from different ethnic and artistic backgrounds.

FEMART is one of the most distinct activities, the annual festival of artists and activists that promote human rights and raise awareness for gender equality, is implemented through activities such as public discussions, poetry and theater performances that often break taboos in the society of Kosovo.

Centre for Development of the Arts
Regional Women’s Art Festival – FEMART
Theatre-based education in Kosovo
Youth Network for Social Change (with representatives from 11 municipalities)
Regional Network of Artists for Human Rights
National Festival for Social Change
Interactive Youth Art School

What are we looking for in an intern for this project?

Isla is looking for interns who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree or a young professional studying or working in global health, public health, medical studies, communications and/or other related fields and skills. This is a wonderful opportunity to complete academic credit, practicum, research, or capstone project requirements towards undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

All Isla internships are customized to your particular academic interests and skill set. Please note it is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept an Isla internship position.
