AVEVA OSIsoft PI Engineer 

Setting new standards for industrial process automation solutions in the metropolitan New York City tristate area, Control Associates, Inc. is a premier provider of process automation systems & software, valves, measurement solutions, pressure management, asset reliability and data management solutions. We are looking to hire an AVEVA OSIsoft PI Engineer to work out of our headquarters in Allendale, NJ. 

Established in 1933, Control Associates along with its global process automation business partner, Emerson, specializes in supporting the process control equipment and service needs of the following industries: Life Sciences, Natural Gas Distribution & Transmission, HVAC, Power, Chemical, and Downstream Hydrocarbons

Responsibilities:

  • This is a Lead PI Development Role; this resource will individually deliver to the Lead Engineer all aspects of data management project implementations from project proposal support through to start-up and commissioning if required
  • Perform definition/implementation/integration of DeltaV and/or AVEVA OSIsoft PI with external systems including PLCs, Enterprise Historians, MAXIMO, Syncade, Werum, SAP, and databases
  • Perform definition/implementation/integration of OEE, KPI, dash boarding, and/or reporting solutions
  • Develop specific AVEVA OSIsoft PI visualizations and dashboards, analytical equations, and advanced reporting
  • Support installed base of technology solutions, including AVEVA OSIsoft PI, DeltaV, Syncade, thin client management, virtualization, Kepware/Matrikon OPC, and SyTech XLReporter
  • Perform system and network setups, commissioning, upgrades, and installation. Load system software for company supplied systems. Configure networking and/or Microsoft Active Directory/DNS networks
  • Troubleshoot control system network issues both on and offsite to determine root cause of communication, network operating systems and/or control problems
  • Directly support client deliverables onsite at their locations within the NYC Tri-state area
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, or a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical, Biochemistry or Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • 3+ years complex PI development experience required, AVEVA PI/OSIsoft PI
  • Process control and systems integration experience preferred, such as AVEVA OSI PI, Aspen InfoPlus.21, DCS, PLC, and/or OPC HDA/DA/UA/XML
  • Experience integrating to external systems such as MAXIMO, Syncade, Werum, SAP, and databases preferred. Experience with OEE, KPI, dash boarding, and/or reporting solutions preferred
  • Python, C#, and Microsoft SQL Server development experience preferred.
  • Scientific software programming experience using MATLAB, R, or equivalent numerical methods preferred, academic experience accepted.
  • Customer facing, S/he will interact regularly with customers and co-workers, thus strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to be a clear communicator is required
  • Must frequently travel to NYC Tri-State area client sites to directly support secure deliverables
  • S/he must have excellent organizational and time management skills
