FILM & IMAGES FELLOWSHIP
Description The CHLI Film and Photography Fellow works within the communications team to develop graphic collateral such as presentations, videos, and promotional event photography. The fellow will help with the planning for social media, working together with the Communications Director to implement and evaluate the efforts. It is essential that applicants have excellent communication, video filming/editing skills, a proficiency in Photoshop/Lightroom, can demonstrate creativity, and understand the importance of attending to even the smallest details.
Responsibilities
- Attend virtual and on-site programs on behalf of CHLI and capture video content
- Compose and edit video footage to create program recaps and supplemental content for social
media and organization’s website
- Assist with The Purple Line podcast as needed
- Work with PR Fellow to compose deliverables for digital content and CHLI e-newsletters to
subscribers
- Update and manage organization Flickr and YouTube accounts
- Assist with the development of media kits and other presentation materials
- Conduct behind-the-scene research and production management
- Perform project-specific marketing and communications outreach to support CHLI leadership,
sponsors, and programs
- Assist with program documents, news clippings and content messaging
- Identify marketing and communication trends
- Attend virtual and in-person programs on behalf of CHLI and report back to the team
- Provide administrative support when needed (including data entry, mass e-mailings, program
coordination, technical assistance, and preparing meeting notes)
Requirements
- Able to provide a sample of your video and/or graphics work.
- Proficiency in video editing software (ex. Adobe Premiere), image and graphic editing, Canva,
and Flickr.
- Recent completion of Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Film, Photography, Advertising,
Marketing, or related field. -OR- Currently majoring in the aforementioned fields and on track to
graduate within a year.
- Must be able to work on-site in Washington, D.C. up to twice a week.
- Ability to work remotely with the main team based in Washington D.C., (Eastern Time Zone).
- Ability to multitask and be a self-starter.
- Ability to work independently and be a team player.
- Comfortability using all forms of communication, including but not limited to email, telephone, and
social media.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
- In possession of your own equipment is a plus.
