Office Space Planner/Designer
Marc Realty is a full-service commercial real estate company that owns, manages, and leases office buildings throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. Job description - Office Space Planner/Designer
Responsible for Tenant Improvement projects and the designing/space planning related to those projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete space planning and design work as assigned
- Contribute to the constant improvement of CAD and building standards
- Communicate with property management, construction management, tenant and brokerage
- Review/provide building calculations for tenant square footages
- Review field verifications/measurements
- Review all TI construction documents prior to release.
- Attend weekly construction meetings to review and adjust the scope of work currently in progress within the portfolio
- Develop and maintain site plans for existing and new acquisitions to determine design approach for tenant planning and common spaces.
- Point of contact for new space plan requests from Brokerage and Property Management
Building Development and Tenant Planning:
- Space planning, construction documentation and construction administration for related projects
- Prepare material specifications for related jobs
- Provide documentation on current status of projects to Design Team Manager
- Perform walkthroughs and punch-lists of related construction projects
- Review and provide opinions on design and construction documentation at both the design development and construction documentation phase
- Attend building development meetings with building and project management as team leader to determine action steps required next by team
- Collaborate with other consultants as needed for project completion
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3+ years of AutoCAD experience
- Possess a high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with fellow employees, brokers, clients, vendors and company contacts.
- Ability to interface well with all departments within the company.
- Knowledge of applicable of city codes and accessibility requirements.
- Strong organizational skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree – Interior Design or Architecture
- NCIDQ certification preferred
- At least three (3) years of relevant interior design related work experience required.
