Human Resources Specialist Intern

This position is for individuals who are working towards a bachelor’s or master’s in Communications, Marketing , Business, or individuals interested in developing their talent management, recruitment, and team building skillsets.
The Human Resources Specialist performs a wide range of human resources functions. Their duties include recruiting, onboarding, training new and existing interns. The Human Resources Specialist will also help plan programs and processes designed to improve intern welfare.
If you join our team you will learn to use of Slack, Google Sheets, Excel Forecasting Functions, Pivot Tables, Tracking Methodologies, LinkedIn for recruitment and Handshake. You will work with a team of 1-3 Human Resources Specialist Intern and work closely with the executive team over the course of the internship.
Duties:
- Will plan programs and processes designed to improve intern experience
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including vetting candidates, assisting with interviews, and issuing pre-internship screenings
- Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests related to the HR department
- Supporting HR-related training programs, workshops, and seminars
- Entering intern data into database
- Coordinating logistics for new hire orientations
- Writing and submitting reports on general HR activities
- Overseeing HR events, meetings and coordinating internal intern communications
- Continuously learn the latest HR best practices to improve workplace efficiency
Qualifications/ Skills:
- Still enrolled in a Bachelor’s program and is expected to graduate 2023 or later
- Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in clearly communicating strategy, either verbally or in written form
- Time management and planning skills
- Passion for collaboration and a propensity for action
- Excellent organizational skills
- An entrepreneurial attitude
Note:
- This internship will be unpaid
- Professional development and networking with industry collaborators will be done as well to help with post-internship opportunities
- The internship duration will be six months long and ~5 – 10 hours a week (part-time)
- The internship can be extended if success internship is obtained
