Transportation Design Engineer III
The Transportation Design Engineer III will work with the design of major and minor transportation projects. This position will work with engineers, surveyors, and technicians; to complete engineering functions necessary to design, prepare highway construction plans, specifications, standards, and cost estimates, including final contract documents, addenda, and revisions.
This position may function as a highway design engineer on transportation projects; design or review drainage, storm water management, and erosion and sediment control; or perform, assist, or review the collection, processing, adjustment, and file management of geospatial and cadastral survey data. The Transportation Design Engineer III will be is a resource to assist in revising policies, manuals, and guidelines, updating standards and specification, completing asset management activities, and developing reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of an Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate in the state of Maryland. Evidence of license must be presented at the time of appointment.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience performing engineering work acceptable to the Maryland State Board for Professional Engineers involving the application of specialized engineering analysis and design that includes aspects of design, evaluation, and inspection in accordance with specifications and drawings, investigation, and planning.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year of experience in design and/or construction of highway or other transportation infrastructure projects such as transit, rail, and/or airport projects.
