Job Description:
Overview:
Greif is a fully integrated company, making 100% recycled paperboard products and packaging. Within our Recycling Group, we help collect, process, and bale recyclables at our plants to then be shipped to our paper mills. Our Paper Mill Group repulps those paper bales to be made into various grades of recycled paperboard and containerboard. Our Paper and Packaging Group then help convert those rolls and sheets from the mill into finished paper products and packaging, which can range from Corrugated Boxes to Tubes and Cores to other various Paperboard Products.
Products & Services:
The Paper Packaging and Services (PPS) division of Greif manufactures containerboard, coated recycled paperboard, uncoated recycled paperboard, industrial and corrugated products, and offers recycling services.  In North America PPS services construction, paper products, textiles, explosives, automotive, manufacturing, and many other industries. PPS has a closed loop system that recycles our recovered fiber providing competitive advantages through flexibility, supply security, and sustainability. 
CO-OP Program Overview:
Students will spend a 6-month semester working & learning in a designated Greif Recovered Fiber Group facility located in Mobile, AL.  The program will require students to work in a full-time hourly position for 8hrs/day, M-F (40hrs/wk).  Students will be paired with the facility manager, which will provide guidance & mentorship throughout the semester.  
During the semester, students’ duties will include:
  • an in-depth overview of the recovered fiber group; working directly with production crews & equipment
Quality Control: understanding the fundamentals of testing equipment & the quality variables and attributes of finished products
  • : facility maintenance requirements; preventative maintenance & daily upkeep of equipment
  • : purchasing, HR, shipping/receiving, production scheduling, manager & supervisor requirements & performance management techniques

Abilities/Skills: Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills are required; students must display a high level of professionalism & leadership tact.

Career Opportunities:  Students that display a high level of engagement/comprehension may be offered a salaried administrative position post-graduation.  Positions could include but are not limited to, facility & production level management.
