Commercial Architect

Position Overview:

 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Architect to join our team. As a Commercial Architect, you will be responsible for designing of commercial buildings, such as but not limited to, office complexes, retail spaces, hotels, and industrial facilities. You will collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to create innovative and functional architectural designs that meet clients needs while adhering to building codes, regulations and industry standards.

 

Responsibilities:

 

1.    Conceptual Development: Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, project goals and budget constraints. Create conceptual designs, develop design proposals, and present them to clients for feedback and approval.

2.    Architectural Planning: Develop detailed architectural plans, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. Ensure designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards.

3.    Construction Documentation: Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and material selections. Coordinate with engineers and consultants to integrate their design components into the overall project.

4.    Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, mechanical engineers, interior designers, and landscape architects, to integrate their expertise into the project design and resolve conflicts.

5.    Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed about project progress, address their concerns, and ensure client satisfaction. Present design concepts and progress reports to clients in a clear and professional manner.

6.    Sustainability Considerations: Integrate sustainable design principles and energy-efficient solutions into projects, such as optimizing natural lighting, utilizing renewable energy sources, and specifying environmentally friendly materials.

7.    Research and Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in commercial architecture. Apply innovative design approaches and incorporate the latest advancements to enhance project outcomes. 

8.    Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and make cost-effective design decisions without compromising quality or safety.

 

Qualifications:

 

1.    Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

2.    Licensure: Valid architectural license required.

3.    Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in commercial architecture, including design development, construction documentation, and project management.

4.    Proficiency: Strong proficiency in architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar tools. Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) is highly desirable.

5.    Building Codes and Regulations: In-depth knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards.

6.    Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.

7.    Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle project budgets effectively.

8.    Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative and practical solutions to complex design challenges.

9.    Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in design documentation.

10.  Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
