Business Services Intern
OVERVIEW
The Business Services Intern (BSI) is a part-time member of the Office of the Student at California State University, Bakersfield. A BSI assists in the day-to-day business aspect of the office. BSIs must be resourceful, solution oriented, and have excellent communication skills. A BSI will use exemplary customer service skills to assist residents, families, campus partners, and community members as it relates to the business operations of Student Housing.
SPECIFICATIONS
- Create and implement tools to streamline information for current & prospective residents
- Assist in implementation of projects in collaboration with other Housing programs
-Researching best practice information from other universities
- Assist with mail room operations as needed
- Assist in interviewing prospective staff members
- Create content for and assist in facilitating recurring meetings for training and
informational purposes
- Assist the Coordinator for Community Outreach & Events with 25Live & Conference tasks
- Assist with conferences planning throughout the academic year
- Responsible for Residence Life events in 25Live, including compliance and approval process
- Preparation and execution of resident check ins and check outs
- Use and maintenance of the StarRez database
- Training and assisting other staff with StarRez use and Notifii
- Communication with other staff about Business Services updates/changes
- Maintenance of the Housing email account with proper dissemination of emails
- Collaboration with Budget Analyst on residential contract issues and student
Accounts
- Housing representation at Orientation and marketing events, including tabling and presentations
- Distribute Student Housing Status notices to respective students
- Partner with Residence Life for room placement adjustments, swaps and check outs
- Day-to-day troubleshooting and maintenance of residential card access system (Onity)
- Manage and execute projects as required by the professional staff
- Additional tasks as presented or necessary
