Machine Operator

POSITION SUMMARY:  
Under the supervision of the Production Manager, Supervisor and Leads, operates candy making, nut processing and related production and packaging machinery processes; performs startup and shutdown procedures; and ensures that the machinery functions according to specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
·        Loads and operates chocolate, nut roasting, nut handling and inspection, box forming, and finish-packaging machinery.
·        Performs and monitors startup and shutdown procedures of machinery.
·        Adjusts machinery/equipment for different products as needed.
·        Monitors any deviation in the machinery and/or equipment and makes adjustment(s) accordingly.
·        Performs as production crew for various production lines such as packing and box forming; provides materials handling and logistical support for all production and packaging activities, etc.
·        Regular attendance is required for the position.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
·        Cleans up machinery after shift and provides repair and maintenance support as needed.
·        Assists with off-season cleaning.
·        Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
·        High school graduate or GED or equivalent work experience/training
·        TB certificate from a valid medical provider as required by the State of Hawaii, Dept. of Health.
·        One (1) year experience in a production operation.
·        Good communication skills.
·        Ability to read manuals and instructions for machinery & equipment.
·        Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
·        Ability to reach, grasp, handle at a machine-paced level of activity.
·        Ability to read instructions in English at a high school level.
