2024 Finance Summer Analyst Program (Hong Kong)
The Financial Control Group (FCG) is responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial and regulatory reporting for the Firm. FCG prepares external financial reports for public filings and regulators. For internal reporting FCG, along with Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA), summarizes, plans and forecasts the organization’s financial position, including income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future revenues, expenses and earnings. FCG is comprised of Business Unit Controllers, Legal Entity Controllers, Regulatory and Planning groups, and Valuation Review Group.
The Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week direct placement program. Summer Analysts will be placed within a team best aligned to their skills. The program offers an intensive hands-on introduction to Finance at Morgan Stanley.
Training Program
This intensive 10-week program includes a Firmwide orientation to Morgan Stanley’s businesses and division specific training. Your training will continue throughout the summer with structured learning sessions run by senior executives. Similarly, you will have many opportunities to integrate with peers and senior colleagues through a series of networking, social, charity and mentoring events.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively in a high-performing team to ensure the integrity of Morgan Stanley's books and records
- Provide reporting and analysis to business units, senior management and regulators
- Continuously improve or enhance processes for increased control and/or efficiency
- Propose a process improvement or a solution to a business challenge
- Develop an understanding of finance terminology and divisional structure
Qualifications and Skills
- You are pursuing an undergraduate Bachelor’s or Master's degree with a graduation date between October 2024 and July 2025. Students from any degree / discipline are welcome to apply
- You have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Track record of academic excellence
- Strong interest in financial services and understanding of financial products is essential
- You possess excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; you have strong teamwork and collaboration skills; you are motivated and resourceful; you possess project and process management capabilities; you demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills; you can multi-task with close attention to detail
- You have advanced technical and quantitative skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
