Intern, New Product Definition (Advanced Power Conversion Research)

Description

New Product Development Intern, MS or PHD candidate
Requirements
  • Currently working towards a MS or PHD in EE, or related field
  • Interest in developing deep foundation in power electronics
  • Must have experience/coursework in one or more of the following
  • Analog Circuit Design (IC and/or System Level)
  • Controls Theory
  • AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion topologies
  • LED drivers and applications
  • Motor drivers and applications
  • Battery Charging/PMIC operation and applications
  • FPGA coding (verilog), emulation, and evaluation on board
  • Modelling power systems with SIMPLIS, PLECS, and/or MATLAB
  • Lab Skills – Candidate should have experience with or strong interest to learn
  • Circuit design/debug
  • PCB design/layout
  • Soldering and PCB rework
  • Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, and Word
  • Operation of oscilloscopes, power meters, electronic loads, and AC and DC power supplies

Description
  • Assist engineering team in IC definition
  • Assist engineering team in IC evaluation
  • Assist engineering team in PCB design, assembly, and verification
  • Assist engineering team in applications testing and evaluation
  • Generate well documented reports

Pay: up to $35/hour commensurate with experience.
