Under the general supervision of the Public Counter Lead and Administrator I, the incumbent will be responsible for two workloads. First, the Tax Technician will work to maintain an inventory of collection accounts which will entail taking collection actions and making outgoing calls to taxpayers and third parties. Second, the Tax Technician will assist customers at the public counter pertaining to the collection and resolution of complex and sensitive Personal Income Tax (PIT), Business Entities (BE) and Non-Tax Debt accounts. The incumbent must be able to work well, analyze documents thoroughly, explain applicable tax laws to taxpayers and apply appropriate collection remedies to accounts. The incumbent is required to actively work towards creating a strong team environment. Successful candidates must possess the ability assist customers in person, effectively communicate with others and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. The incumbent is also expected to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, prudence, and analytical ability, communication skills and be independent in judgment decisions. The Tax Technician will also be responsible for providing the highest quality customer service to our internal and external customers.
