HandsOn VISTA - Office of Public Health

Join the newly created Public Health Office in the City of Phoenix and help launch opioid addiction prevention programing in one of the most heavily impacted communities in America! In all age categories, Phoenix leads the county in overdose deaths, and you can help reverse that trend. The successful applicant will help develop and launch a youth addiction prevention pilot program focused on peer-to-peer engagement. You will do this by researching evidence based programs, strengthening relationships with schools, facilitating youth coalitions, developing training curriculum, along with other activities. The future member should have some background in public health, school based programing, and/or working with teenage youth engagement. Spanish and/or a knowledge of Phoenix school systems is helpful but not required.
