FT Family Based Service Provider
Position Summary:
Perform a variety of family based services such as assisting professional staff in prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect, work directly in a family’s home to reduce the incidence of abuse and neglect and prevent out-of-home placement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide both long-term and short-term direct support services to families in accordance with their case plan.
- Work toward prevention of out-of-home placements
- Provide supervision for court ordered parent/child visitation
- Encourage and promote family’s self-sufficiency by connecting them with formal and informal resources.
- Willing to provide services inside client’s homes
- Facilitate STAY group
- Protect client confidentiality in compliance with data privacy laws and rules
- Act as a mandated reporter of child and adult protection concerns
- Provide direct and indirect support to families and individuals in the home, office and community
- Assist with transporting clients as needed
- Knowledge and ability to effectively use SSIS
- Provide preventative services to neglected children
- Be knowledgeable of community resources
- Complete annual and ongoing training as required
- Participate in agency/unit meetings
- Available to work outside regular business hours, including nights and weekends
- Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or 2 years post secondary education and 3 years related experience such as: working with families and knowledge of child development; experience working with children with mental health diagnoses, aggressive behaviors and children impacted by abuse and neglect; experience with foster care system and court system; and knowledge of chemical dependency and the impact on families.
OR
- High School Diploma/equivalent and 8 years related experience such as: working with families and knowledge of child development; experience working with children with mental health diagnoses, aggressive behaviors and children impacted by abuse and neglect; experience with foster care system and court system; and knowledge of chemical dependency and the impact on families.
AND
- Valid Class D Driver's License
Entry hourly wage range of $24.78 to $27.78, DOQ. Position has a full earning potential of $34.92/hr, DOQ.
