Operations Team Member-Campus Center (Federal Work Study preferred)

Position Title: Operations Team Member-Campus Center 

Currently hiring for the 2023 fall semester

REQUIRED Hours/Week: MUST work a minimum of 10 hours per week

REQUIRED Availability Hours/Week: MUST have a minimum of 12 hours of availability per week (15 hours preferred).

**For International Students – this means any second on-campus position you might hold could not require more than 7 hours a week if you wish to be considered for this position. Please consider this before you apply for this job.  

Department/Office: Campus Center

Hourly Wage: Starting at $11.00

**Candidates with a Federal Work Study award are preferred.

Supervisor: Evening and Weekend Operations Supervisor 



General Purpose:

The Operations team member is responsible for set-up and teardown of furniture and technology equipment for meetings and events held within the Campus Center. Additionally, they assist Campus Facility Services (CFS) with the general upkeep of the facility.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Event & Meeting Setup

  • Set-up and teardown of the meeting and event rooms as outlined by a set-up worksheet and room diagram
  • Set-up and teardown of associated technology for all events and meetings in the Campus Center
  • Provide support during events including last-minute changes and AV troubleshooting
  • Ensure proper care, movement, and storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, cables, speakers, etc.
  •  Maintain a daily understanding of events taking place in the building in order to assist with daily management

Customer Service

  • Provide high quality customer service to all clients and guests
  • Unlock meeting rooms and greet clients at arrival
  • Provide basic AV instruction to clients
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to find creative solutions that work for both the client and Campus Center

Other

  • Maintain facility cleanliness by routinely wiping down tables and chairs in meeting rooms
  • Work special event shifts as needed
  • Attend AV 1:1 training meetings as needed
  • Attend all area team and all-team meetings and training sessions
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

Availability, Education, and Experience:

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 12 hours per week of work availability (15 hours per week preferred).
  • Candidate must have at least a 2.0 cumulative IUPUI GPA (unless they are a first semester, first-year student) and be in judicial good standing at the time of application.
  • Candidate and team members must be enrolled at IUPUI to be hired and must maintain enrollment during employment.
  • Candidates with a Federal Work Study award are preferred, but this is not required.

  • Adapting event and meeting spaces when issues and concerns arise from clients or Campus Center professional staff
  • Consulting with other staff members to handle any challenges that may arise on shift
