Your Responsibilities

 
As a Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Kernersville located in Kernersville, North Carolina, you will:
 
  • Develop, implement, and support manufacturing processes for the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Lineside support
  • Manufacturing tools and fixtures
  • Material flow
  • Operational Method Sheets (OMS)
  • Sequence of Events (SOE)
  • Product Delivery Process (PDP)

Additionally, you will be....

 
  • Responsible, as a Manufacturing engineer, for (CI) continuous improvement of the operations in their area of responsibility. This includes but is not limited to safety, ergonomics, quality, cost, reduction of throughput times and equipment improvements.
  • Supportive of maintaining factory layouts for the assigned area.
  • Responsible for tasks in SAP for the assigned area.
  • Supporting company incentive metrics.
  • Responsible for managing assigned projects and participating on cross-functional teams.

What Skills You Need


  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and working in a production environment.
  • Original thinking and an ability to identify problems and generate creative solutions.
  • Good communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with salaried and wage personnel in a team environment.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software.

What Makes You Stand Out

 
  • Procurement/Implementation of equipment (fabrication fixtures and welding robots). 
  • Knowledgeable of heavy plate welding. 
  • Project management. 
  • Excavator Knowledge. 
  • 1 or more years of related manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity of logistics in manufacturing
 

Education

 
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
 
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing)
