Director Office of Integrated and International Energy Analysis ES-00

The Department of Energy's (DOE) U.S. Energy Information Administration is looking for a dynamic, innovative, seasoned executive to lead integrated domestic and international energy analysis as part of EIA's comprehensive energy supply and demand data collection, analysis, and dissemination program.

As the Director Office of Integrated and International Energy Analysis you will:
  • Provide executive leadership for the strategic vision, planning, and direction of Office programs; oversees subordinate managers and the formulation, defense, administration, and evaluation of resources (funding, staffing, information, contracts) necessary to conduct the Office's activities; and makes resource allocation decisions among competing needs of the Office's functions.
  • Provide strategic and conceptual direction to EIA's complex energy and economic modeling systems used to produce short-term forecasts and long-term projections and analysis of domestic and international energy markets that contribute to policy-making and private sector decisions on energy-related initiatives. Oversees the design, development, maintenance, operation, and documentation of models of domestic and international energy production, conversion, and use.
  • Lead the preparation of deadline-driven analytical publications that span the energy sector; ensures integration of appropriate data from multiple sources and leads quality assurance efforts for EIA's analysis products.
  • Lead the publication of EIA's historical international energy statistics and other country-level briefs; ensures the maintenance of transparent source and methodological notes.
  • Provide executive leadership for assessing the effects of domestic and international events on energy supply, demand, and prices, including oversight of the design and conduct of vulnerability/contingency analyses related to energy supply disruptions and provides analytic support for Continuity of Operations and emergency planning exercises.
  • Provide executive coordination for interactions with officials from foreign governments and international organizations to acquire and share energy information, provide expertise on the design and implementation of analytical energy programs, and establish information exchange programs.
  • Develop and justify budget requests and ensuring that program budget supports Departmental and Administration planning and initiatives.
  • Set all internal control standards for effectiveness, efficiency, productivity and overall quality control consistent with organizational policy, program and project viability.
  • Determine the financial and personnel resources needed to achieve mission objectives and support mission operations; identifying the need for major organizational improvements and approving the requisite plans and directing implementing actions.
  • Lead effective, well-coordinated change management activities to ensure ongoing and efficient organizational operations in support of EIA's mission.
