Intern, Flight Standards & Training (Fall 2023)


Summary:
The Allegiant Flight Standards and Training internship offers a challenging and unique experience for aviation students. Students will gain valuable “hands-on” experience through the opportunity to observe and learn the responsibilities and role of a Part 121 Air Carrier Training Department. Work with check pilots, fleet managers, and instructors in daily training operations and training program development, This role will be directly involved in projects and assignments that will affect the training of Allegiant pilots.

Minimum Requirements:
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree 

Education Details:  

Bachelor's Degree recent graduate or currently pursuing degree. To be qualified to apply intern candidates should be currently enrolled in a college or university, or a recent graduate within the last six months with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. 

Be computer literate and proficient in utilizing Word and Excel programs. 

 Preferred Requirements:
Multi-engine Commercial Instrument Airplane FAA License. 

Job Duties:
Assist with special projects in flight related departments. 
Assist with the development of communications. 
Assist in developing Flight Operations related manuals. 
Compile and update reports, graphs, and other presentations. 
Inter-departmental duties as assigned. 
Observe the coordination between the Flight Crew, the In-flight Crew, and the Ground Crew. 
Perform entry level flight related duties. 
Perform flight safety data analysis. 
Process requests from other departments. 
Read and process safety reports. 
Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing direction. 
Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role. 

Essential Services Provider
