Make a difference in the lives of AZ seniors by expanding and engaging Caring Circles volunteers who will encourage the health, safety, and well-being of those they serve. The Caring Circles mission is to reduce social isolation and increase companionship for homebound seniors by focusing on volunteer recruitment and engagement efforts. The successful applicant will build a volunteer base to sustain and support this important program. In this role you will be recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers, as well as participating in community events to build partnerships. The future member should have experience or a desire to learn about social services and resources for seniors. Be comfortable with technology, social media applications, and public speaking. Have reliable transportation and able to obtain an AZ Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful but not required. This is a National Service position as a part of AmeriCorps VISTA program. Members who move over 50 miles qualify for a relocation allowance as well as a settling in allowance. All of our VISTA's receive a modest taxable living allowance of about $1,700/month (before taxes), federal loans qualify for forbearance. After the completion of one's year of service, they also qualify for an educational award valued at about $6,800, which can be used towards federal loans, or further education.
