Green Technologies Intern

General Information

Greenlink is currently seeking summer interns who are eager to contribute to a growing organization and develop a range of skills. Greenlink Education is a new start up, which means Interns have an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to projects in which they are involved and gain insight into the  day-to-day of a growing small business. 

Greenlink Education is looking for a Green Technologies Intern to conduct research and inform company practices related to green economy and sustainable technologies. Green economy and sustainability technology refer to the use of technology to make positive environmental impacts or reduce negative environmental impacts. By inventing new methods and products, green technology seeks to identify and replace existing wasteful or harmful habits developed over time to improve the quality of the earth’s environment.

Internship Expectations

Greenlink Education is currently engaged in several projects integrating green technologies into the K12 sector. Given the quickly expanding scope of this field, we are looking for a motivated and engaged Intern to research current trends of all school-related green technologies and develop a library of best practices related to our current work. We will also want the intern to teach essential content to members of the organizational team as needed.

Intern responsibilities will include:

  • Research, document/catalog, and present school-related technology. Particular areas of focus will include technology related to:
  • Green building strategies
  • Renewable energy
  • Resource conservation
  • Waste management 
  • Transportation electrification
  • Career and technical education opportunities
  • Research, document/catalog and present current legislation related to sustainability strategies within the education sector. Interns will conduct a close analysis of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) as it relates to green technologies and the education sector, as well as analysis of nationwide and state specific legislation impacting these strategies. 
  • Conduct market research as it relates to the implementation of these green technologies within school settings. This research may include analysis of utility rates and different models of implementing renewable energy sources on campuses. 
  • Attend regular meetings with company leadership to discuss research and project status
  • Provide support for operational and business development-related tasks at request of company leadership
  • Virtually attend events and relay information to relevant stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Recently or currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
  • Some college OR relevant work experience
  • Strong research and writing abilities 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management abilities
  • Precision, attention to detail
  • Ability to understand complex instructions 
  • Computer skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Motivated to take on new initiatives

Details about Dates, Pay and Location

Dates of Position: June-August 2023
Hours: Minimum 120 hours, Flexible schedule 
Compensation: $1,500
Location: Remote
