Under the direction of the CalFresh Healthy Living, UC Program Supervisor and Regional Manager, the CalFresh Healthy Living Nutrition Education Program Community Education Specialist 2 or 3 is responsible for the coordination of garden-enhanced nutrition education, farm-to-school programs, trainings of garden extenders, supporting community partnerships, and overall garden related technical assistance for the Central Sierra CalFresh Healthy Living Nutrition Education Program.

This includes supervising, training, and guiding nutrition education extenders, developing and implementing yearly work plans, evaluating work plan goals and objectives, and writing reports. This person will coordinate efforts and serve as a liaison with other agencies providing related services in the Central Sierra counties (Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, and Tuolumne), build and maintain formal and informal coalitions of partners, tailor special nutrition education and PSE projects, and maintain subject matter competence. This person will coordinate with nutrition education staff within the Central Sierra counties to strengthen community engagement approaches and interventions and develop new strategies to meet program goals.

This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.

This position is posted as a Community Education Specialist 3 but a Community Education Specialist 2 may be considered depending on the level of experience of the hired applicant.

Pay Scale:

• CES 2: $21.07/hour to $28.02/hour
• CES 3: $47,800 /year to $64,400/year

This position will promote, in all ways consistent with the other responsibilities of the position, accomplishment of the Affirmative Action goals established by the Division.
