Public Relations and ESG Intern

More about Crusoe:

Crusoe is on a mission to unlock value in stranded energy resources through the power of computation.

The MIT Technology Review reported that training just one AI model can emit more than 626,000 pounds of carbon dioxide – which is nearly five times the lifetime emissions of an average American car. We aim to align the long term interests of the climate with the future of global computing infrastructure. As data centers consume an exponentially growing power footprint to deliver technology to all connected devices, we are inspired by making sure that the energy meeting that demand is sourced in an environmentally responsible fashion.

We power, own, and operate data centers with stranded energy such as flare gas and underloaded renewables, so for every GPU hour you use on Crusoe Cloud, you're offsetting 0.5kg of CO2e, or approximately 4.4 metric tons over an entire year!

Crusoe Cloud brings scalable, clean, low-cost cloud computing to the world's bravest thinkers in computationally intensive fields including artificial intelligence, graphics rendering, scientific simulation, and computational biology. We power ideas with stranded energy, creating a catalyst to bring more climate aligned energy online.

Values:

Crusoe has five core values with each value grounded in a set of actionable practices. The combination of philosophical values and actionable practices creates a decision-making framework for each employee to achieve success at Crusoe.

  • Cultivate an Idea Meritocracy: Our ideas are always bigger than our egos. We constantly pursue iterative improvements to the status quo to find new ways of unlocking value. Our greatest ideas are strengthened through vigorous debate and a persistent focus on finding ways to make them better.
  • Think Like a Mountaineer: Our operations are like climbing a mountain and you must become an operational mountaineer. We’re not just talking about a day hike in the foothills on a sunny afternoon, we are climbing Mt. Everest. Your goals are achievable, but require intense preparation, accurate forecasting, always thinking ahead, and mastery of your tools. Climbing a mountain is not a sprint, it requires consistent endurance and anticipation for challenges that lie around the corner.
  • Relentless Commitment to Resource Efficiency: We are focused on doing more with less. We are driven by making a material difference in the human footprint on the environment and making oil companies better. Just as Robinson Crusoe made efficient use of his resources while stranded on a desert island, we find innovative ways to make the most of what we have.
  • Tap into the Collective Genius: Our collective knowledge draws from a diverse set of experiences and expertise. We are solving big problems that have never been solved before where there are no experts or tour guides. By tapping into our collective genius, we will push the bounds of human innovation and unlock new potential for the world.
  • Be and Become Your Best Self: Here, you will be challenged to do the best work of your entire life. You will continually be pushed to break through to new levels of personal achievement and grow into the greatest version of yourself.
