MN Agriculture in the Classroom Student Worker - Student Worker Para Professional

Are you a current student excited and eager to learn more about digital marketing and willing to try new things to help benefit agricultural education in Minnesota? If so, then this may be the position for you!

In this position you will have the opportunity to gain experience with a variety of different digital marketing materials and methods while focusing on educational content for the Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom (MAITC) program. You will coordinate the public relations, social media, newsletters and content updates on the MAITC website and will assist MAITC staff with developing and updating agricultural focused educational materials and supporting documents for teachers to utilize in their classrooms. You will also help coordinate details and materials for teacher trainings and tours which happen periodically throughout the year. These tours and trainings provide an opportunity to gain skills in event planning and execution as you will have an opportunity to take photographs and write supporting materials before, during, and after the event.

Minimum Qualifications


To facilitate proper years of service crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education with a major in agricultural education, communications, agriculture, economics, marketing, environmental studies, business management or related field.

Ability to communicate, influence and persuade a diverse audience both orally and in writing.

Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficiency working with personal computers and software related to databases, spreadsheets, presentation and word processing is essential. Internet and web search skills are essential.

The ability to celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment.

Student worker eligibility status:
To be eligible for an appointment as a Student Worker you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as student workers, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. As a student you must be enrolled in high school or in a post-secondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. you will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.

Preferred Qualifications


Experience or coursework related to agricultural education.

Experience or coursework in communications and public relations.
