Electrical Engineering Intern

We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Summer 2023 intern to assist in the design and development of an electrical inspection platform, capable of running parametric testing on microelectronics components. An initial concept for the electrical inspection platform is described here. You will also be responsible for assisting with electrical engineering towards other efforts including the Chiplytics PSA system, sockets, internal testing tools, and new product ideas.

Responsibilities

  1. Design parametric tests for microelectronics components
  2. Create test scripts using Python to run parametric tests
  3. Integrate test scripts with Chiplytics GUI and test results with Firebase backend
  4. Define any necessary enhancements to system specifications based on new microelectronics tests and customer requirements
  5. Design custom PCBs for Chiplytics products using Eagle
  6. Iterate on the electrical design of the Chiplytics electrical inspection platform as well as other Chiplytics products and test equipment
  7. Work with mechanical engineers to define PCB and electronics features and dimensions
  8. Potentially traveling for onsite customer visits and conferences
  9. Interacting with customers to gather requirements, help with onboarding and potential debugging, and take in feedback

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field, or currently in school working towards such degrees
  • 20 hours per week
  • Experience with Eagle or similar electrical design software
  • Experience with Python, and Javascript, HTML, and Firebase development is a plus
  • Located in Seattle and able to work in-person at the Chiplytics office 20 hours per week
