- Serves as IT Specialist in Product Development for assigned Automated Information System(AIS) or AIS subsystem(s) in one or more AIS application areas.
- Responsible for product development assignments to include database administration, system architecture, and applications development.
- Responsible for development and maintenance of databases and/or provides expert guidance to lower graded information technology specialists in database development/maintenance.
- Develops and/or implements procedures for administration of databases and programming interfaces within assigned area.
- Evaluates available database management systems and tools, and recommends selection based on needs defined by the application developers and system architects while applying architecture policies.
- Performs research and analysis on state-of-the-art database methodologies, practices, tools and available technology to determine applicability, desirability and availability for potential utilization in assigned AIS or AIS Subsystem(s).
- Ensures database access code developed by other government and/or contractor resources meets design specifications.
- Assists in problem determination and provides technical support; ascertains whether problem is within area of responsibility
- Configures system requirements for data availability, performance, and space.
- Works with Data Management Team Lead to provide direct input into any database architecture and physical changes to the WMS database objects.
- Evaluates complex data sets to validate data during the ETL process and troubleshoots data validation issues, integrity issues, and other problems within the SAP environment to support overall data team duties.
- Provides technical data management advice and skills to other team members within SAP data systems.
- Produces and enforces documentation and SOP?s for accessing and exposing WMS data to DLA and external partner systems.
- Experience in navigating file systems, manipulating files, loading data tables and exporting files within the operating system environment (Windows and RedHat Enterprise Server)
