SSC Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction Program Assistant- Business majors only

Position Description: 
 
SSC Tutoring & SI is seeking a focused, self-motivated individual to work with our team to help oversee our business and econ tutors and SI leaders in Lubar, promote our services, and support student success. This individual will be trained to perform a variety of responsibilities from among the following duties.  
 
Positional Responsibilities: 
 
  • Aid the administration of SSC Tutoring & SI, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation, training and evaluating business/econ tutors and SI leaders. 
  • Help guide and communicate with business/econ tutors/SI leaders about various aspects of their jobs. 
  • Maintain an active presence in various SSC centers, especially Lubar N243. 
  • Assist with the outreach and collaboration of SSC programs, including outreach to students, staff, and faculty in classes and at special events.  
  • Assist with records, reports, and research projects related to student success and program effectiveness. 
  • Develop and maintain the professionalism of SSC employees and assist in coordination of SSC employee training initiatives.  
  • Assist in other duties assigned. Specific responsibilities may reflect the successful candidate’s interest and desired experiences as well as current departmental needs.  
 
Qualifications: 
 
Qualified candidates should be a business major in the Lubar College of Business, wither as a graduate or undergraduate student. Candidate should demonstrate abilities which will provide a foundation to develop skills in academic support including: ability to build rapport with students, strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to take the initiative to complete tasks and develop new initiatives when appropriate is also desired.   
This position is for the Fall 2023/ Spring 2024 academic school year. Ideally this position would start August 21st.
